South Cork Division 1925
The new ‘South Cork’ Division, to become the ‘South-West Cork’ Division the following year, began in 1925 and five teams, Kilbrittain, Innishannon, Bandon, Kinsale and Knockavilla took part in the first junior hurling championship. Kilbrittain, who dominated West Cork hurling in those years, beat Innishannon in the final in Kinsale and were later beaten by Midleton in the county championship in the Athletic Grounds by 5-2 to nil, the following spring.

The advert for the final appears in the Southern Star on August 15th but only the result is available on the August 22nd Star. Even then, the opponents are given in error as ‘Innishannon v Kinsale.’
The Kilbrittain team which lost to Midleton included – James Barrett (capt..), Ned Barrett (goalie), John Barrett, David O’Hea, Eugene O’Hea, Daniel O’Hea, Con Crowley, Pat Roche, John Roche, Jer Ahern, T. Hallissey, T. Holland, J. O’Brien.
WEST CORK BOARD
The old West Cork Board still existed in 1925.
Clonakilty won the West Cork Board junior hurling championship in 1925, beating Skibbereen in the final by 7-2 to 1-0, on September 6th in Rosscarbery and they also lost to Midleton, in the county semi-final. The following year Clonakilty transferred to the new ‘South-West Cork’ Division.
Chairman of the West Cork Board was Jeremiah McCarthy (Kilmichael), vice-chairman was P. J. Cullinane (Skibbereen) and rúnaí was Dan O’Donovan (Clonakilty).
